About the NameKronburg History
The Kronburg was constructed about 1200, as a Hohenstaufen minister’s residence, and reverted to the empire after the house of Kronburg became extinct. In 14th century, the Kronburg became a Habsburg fief with changing owners. The today's appearance of the castle dates to the years 1490 to 1536. Remarkable is the castle chapel, a small hall with 5 axis, with a flat barrel vaulted ceiling. The band-and-leaf stucco work dates from the time about 1720; the altar is dated about 1775.
