About Ehrenburg Homes

| Joe
Ehr, President of Ehrenburg Homes Ltd. |
|
Ehrenburg Homes has been building
quality homes & 'castles' in Saskatoon and area since 1983. I, myself,
started out as a Journeyman carpenter, and have been in construction for
over 30 years.
Ehrenburg Homes feels very strongly about education and
professionalism when it comes to new home construction. Our company is
recognized as a Certified Professional Home Builder in the province
of Saskatchewan, a member of the Canadian Home Builders Association,
and a certified R2000 Builder. As a member of the New Home
Warranty Program of Saskatchewan, we have received the Gold Service
Award since joining the program in 1983. All our employees are qualified
professionals, and stay current on new housing trends and technical
innovations through continual industry-sponsored educational courses and
seminars. We are also a long-time member of the Better Business Bureau of
Saskatchewan.
Our efforts have not gone unrecognized. We have won many Saskatoon Home
Builder Association’s ‘Bridges Awards’ for home design, technical
innovation, environmental awareness, professional involvement, and
advertising (including ‘Best Website’ in 2001!).

We have
been asked many times where the name Ehrenburg came from. The
name Ehr at one time was Ehrenburg and was later shortened.
The castle pictured to the left is the Ehrenburg
castle built around the year 1100.
From 1547 to 1918 this palace was the
town residence of the Coburg dukes. Still a renaissance building, in
part built in the neo-Gothic style (19th century), it features
state-rooms and apartments with lavish furnishings, a Hall of Giants;
Goblin Room; Red Reception Room; Small and Large Gallery; Court Church
with lavish stuccowork (Italian craftsmen of the 17th century); and
Throne Hall (neo-Classicism, 1831). |
I also believe that one must give back to the industry in which you make
your living, and to the community where you and your family live and
prosper. To give me a better understanding of our industry, I have held
several different positions from President of the Saskatoon Home
Builders' Association, Chairman of the Saskatchewan Home Builders
Association, to Secretary and Presidential Appointee of the
Canadian Home Builders' Association. Over the years we have also contributed
to various community organizations and charities. We have built raffle
‘playhouses’ for the MS Society of Saskatchewan, lottery homes for
the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, and made contributions to The
Children of Chernobyl fund.
And finally, I do believe that a family's home is their castle!!!
We have set up all of our ‘Family of Castles’ models (which, yes, can be
modified on computer), and offer a custom design service to our clients to
modify an existing plan, or to custom design a ‘Dream home’ plan of your very
own. We offer an easy step-by-step process to building a new home
(especially if you have not built before), and an after-sales service
program to look after you once you have moved into your new home.
Big or small, give us a call for your next new home!!!
Joseph I. Ehr, President
Ehrenburg Homes Ltd.
